- 1. 72 HOUR GUARANTEE: The puppy carries an unconditional 72 hour guarantee against any serious illness or congenital defect. It is recommended that the puppy be taken to the purchaser's veterinarian within this 72 hour period for a thorough checkup. If the puppy is found unacceptable by the examining vet, the puppy may be returned, together with the AKC papers and a signed statement from the vet stating the health reason for the return of the puppy. The breeder has the right to have the puppy examined by his own vet for evaluation. The purchaser will be released from ownership and a full refund will be given provided the puppy is returned within 72 hours from the initial purchase. The purchaser if sully responsible for the puppy until it is returned to the breeder. Failure to comply with the above 72 hour check, will make all further guarantees null and void.
- 2. 12 MONTH GUARANTEE: At anytime within one (1) year from the date of birth should the pupppy develop hip dysplasia resulting in permanent crippling or inability to perform normal functions, the breeder agees to replace the puppy from a subsequent breeding with a puppy of equal purchase price. The replacement puppy will be an exchange for the dysplastic puppy. (QUARANTEE DOES NOT COVER OFA GRADING OF HIPS) However, should the care of the puppy by the purchaser differ from suggested normal care by the breeder resulting in damage to the puppy, the guarantee will be null. Veterinarian documentation shall be required and the breeder also has the right to have his own vet examine the puppy.
- 3. 12 MONTH GUARANTEE: At anytime within one (1) year from the date of birth, should the puppy develop a genetic heart disease, the breeder agrees to replace the puppy from a subsequent breeding with a puppy of equal purchase price. The replacement puppy will be an exchangement for the heart puppy. Vet documentation will be required. To extend the 12 month quarantee described in #1 and #2 to a 24 month guarantee, the puppy must remain on NuVet Plus for the entire two years. The breeder recommends keeping the puppy on this supplement for his or her entire life.
- 4. To insure the puppy's health, the puppy will have received its first and second vaccines and will have been wormed at age 6 and 8 weeks of age. It is the purchaser's responsibility to follow-up on the vaccinations until the series has been completed. Poper and frequent parasite testing and treatment as suggested by the vet is imperative. Heartworm testing and administration of preventive heartworm medication is also vital for the puppy's health.
- 5. It is understood if a replacement puppy is necessary for any of the above mentioned reasons, a waiting time may be required until a new puppy becomes available.
- 6. FEEDING - We recommend feeding Purina Large Breed Puppy Chow until the puppy is 8 months old and then switching over to Purina Dog Chow. The puppy should be fed 3 cups three times daily until at least 8 months old. It is very important that you DO NOT let your puppy gain to much weight their first yea as their bones are still developing. Fresh water is a must.
- 7, SHELTER AND sAFETY. A fenced in yard or pen is essential for the puppy. Newfoundlands do not do well by themselves. Your puppy needs to be part of your family. Regular exercise is a must. Protection from the weather must also be provided. Failure to provide the necessary care as described above shall be considered as cruelty or neglect of your puppy. Should inadequate care of health (vaccines, food, water, exercise, etc) or creating a danger to the puppy's well-being be found to exist, subject for repossession of puppy shall be considered. NO refund will be given if such facts are found to be true.
- 8. The puppy/adult dog should not be allowed to run or exercise at least 1 to 2 hours before or after eating. Newfoundlands and other large breed dogs tend to bloat more easily than smaller breeds. Taking this precaution will help to eliminate the risk.
- 9. The puppy is not being purchased for the purpose of resale and will be be resold or given to anyone without prior consultation witht he breeder. The breeder reserves the right of first option to purchase the puppy at no more than the original price or less.
- 10. If the puppy/adult is returned for any reason other than stated in condition #1, #2 or #3, and a new home has to be found for the dog, the new purchase price may be less than the original price. In this case, the refund will be given after the dog is placed in his new home and any fees incurred by the breeder in placing he dog will be deducted from the new purchase price. All paperwork must be returned along with the dog.
- 11. B&K must be used as the prefix to the registered name of your puppy. Failure to use our kennel name in registering this puppy will result in this contract and any guarantee as being cancelled.
- 12. All puppies are sold on a LIMITED REGISTRATION. If at a later date the dog is to be used for breeding purposes, the dog must be OFA certified on heart, hips and elbows. The same is true for the other dog being used. A full registration will also be given if the dog is going to be used to show and the breeder agrees the dog is show quality.
