Tell Your Story

Newfies can make their owners do the funniest things!

If you do funny things just to please your Newf, don't feel alone.  We all do!  That is how they have trained us!!!  If you have funny or strange things you do for your Newf, please email me at katie18287@yahoo.com  and I'll put your story on the blogs.  It should be fun to see what people will do for the love of their friend.

Wonderful Newfie! Sent to me from Jenelle

I lost my Newfie in August of last year. We got him when he was 3 years old and only had 2 years with him. He was severly neglected when we got him. Left outside his whole life with little food, water, and chained up. I sent him to the groomer and the vet. Within 6 months he was no longer underweight. He was an amazing dog, despite the neglect. I have a young child and Bear would let my son climb on him. Bear even pulled Tavis around on a sled or in a wagon! Bear developed diabetes in March of '08. It went downhill from there. He lost weight, was sick and throwing up. His insulin wasnt working despite several changes. For the first month on insulin he did great, and then..... He was euthenized on Aug 27, 2008. Im still heartbroek. But, I tell you this. He was such a wonderful dog, that when I decide I am ready for another dog, it WILL be a newfoundland!
