Playguard's Katie De Ogee (KATIE) January 27, 1994 - November 23, 2006
Katie was our very first Newfie that we had so this page is dedicated just for her. We lost our beautiful beloved Katie on Thanksgiving day. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. Words could not begin to express how much we loved and miss her. Katie became a part of our family in March of 1994 as a big black butterball Newfie puppy. She came from Playguard's Kennel in PA. She was such a good puppy and learned everything very quickly. When she arrived at our home she had a little hedgehog toy with her. That was her favorite toy for many years until she finally tore it apart. I had to replace it with a new one. I still have that one special toy she loved. Before we knew it, she was out of the puppy stage and two years had already passed. She became a mother in the year of 1996 with a litter of 5 beautiful puppies. 3 girls and 2 boys. We couldn't bear to part with any of them so they also became a part of our Newfie family. Now we had Katie plus her "kids". Jack, Rocco, Annie, Heidi and Kari. We only bred her one more time and of course had to keep one of those puppies too. So Tippy was added to our family. Katie loved to be outside when it was cool and we would find her sitting in our pond with just her head showing. When we would call her, she would stay in the pond and just "woof" as if to say "Here I am!". She was so funny. She brought so many smiles and laughs to us. Katie never won any shows or no competitions but she was the biggest Champion to us. Everyone that meant Katie loved her and she returned the love back to them. She use to sit in front of me and put her head on my shoulder and then give me a big hug. She always remained a puppy in her mind and heart and loved to try and sit on our lap. Her age gradually started catching up to her and she started to slow down. She would lay and watch the others play but would much rather just lay in the shade and take a nap. Katie gave us so many years of joy and love it is very hard not having her here with us now. I can still hear her woofing to go outside. I know she has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and will sitting there waiting for us someday. Katie will always be the special Newfie that we had and will remain in our hearts forever. Never to be forgotten. We will always love you my Katie!! If you would like to visit Katie at the Rainbow Bridge, click on the link below. http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/KATIE081/Resident.htm |
